Respite Care For Seniors in Waukesha and Milwaukee Counties
Families providing their own in home care for a loved one use our respite care for seniors to recharge so they're always providing the best care
Caregiving can be a rewarding bonding experience for a family. Even in the best situations, though, the responsibility and ongoing routine can be stressful and tiring, especially when balanced on top of a job or caring for your children. Taking care of your loved ones is a 24/7 responsibility. When family caregivers are low on time, carrying out errands left and right, they can be left emotionally drained, leaving them less effective at fulfilling critical roles. Comfort Keepers of Milwaukee, WI provides respite care for seniors to give you a break from providing care so you can rest, recharge, and refocus on other important parts of your life.
What is Respite Care For Seniors?
Sometimes called “short break” or temporary care, respite services are caregiving services for family members and other caregivers providing in home care to seniors. Respite care for seniors offers the time you need to get outside the home for a vacation, errands or travel. This temporary care can be for a few hours or several days, depending on the needs of the primary caregiver and client.
Respite services help support and keep the primary caregiving relationship by giving a much needed break to family members.
Whether you are caring for an aging parent, a loved one with dementia, or an adult with disabilities, they will receive the best care from our compassionate staff while you are away.

Respite Services Help Local Holocaust Survivor
Jonas Gutman of Poland was just 17 when he was sent to the first of five concentration camps. Arriving prisoners were divided into 2 lines; Jonas switched places so another man could be with his brother. While the other line was sent to the gas chamber, Jonas was able to survive.
When Jonas’ health declined, his daughter Fran called Comfort Keepers for relief and support.
After an initial consultation, Fran felt assured we would provide a competent caregiver, someone her father would like and she could trust. She could finally relax knowing her dad was in good hands.
Since then, Jonas has said his caregiver Lisa “is an angel.”
She knew the importance of dignity and compassion and treated Jonas with kindness and respect. Lisa learned about Judaism as Jonas was always teaching about his faith.
“It is because of Jonas’ faith that he survived and had the strength and love to be a great caregiver for 24 years to mom Lukta (a fellow holocaust survivor),” Fran said.
