24 Hour Home Care & Live In Senior Care From Comfort Keepers of Milwaukee, WI
Never be alone while aging in place with our around the clock 24 hour home care and live in senior care options
Staying in the home you’ve spent your life working for or living in is a high priority for many seniors, however. Aging in place offers many benefits over entering a group home, but it also presents its share of problems.
It can be especially hard for seniors to live independently when they're overcoming a serious illness, suffering from a degenerative disease, or recovering from some type of injury or surgery. Around the clock care can offer seniors and their families complete peace of mind when they need it the most. 24 hour home care and live in senior care are two options that could be right for you.
24 Hour Home Care
Many seniors who require live in care have an easy time finding help during the daylight hours. At night, however, they are left alone. While this may work for some individuals, others need help at all hours. 24 hour home care involves a team of caregivers working in shifts both day and night to provide full-time peace of mind. No matter the time, day or night, they are there to provide a helping hand and a watchful eye for your loved one.
Every hour of every day, a trained Comfort Keeper can be at your home, improving your loved one's quality of life.
Live In Senior Care
This form of around the clock care is just what it sounds like. With live in senior care, a bed must be provided in the home for the caregiver to sleep in. Duties are performed during the daytime hours, with normally a break in the middle, and time off at night to sleep. This allows for a less extensive level of care but still provides an expert nearby at all times.
The level of attention and care you receive from Comfort Keepers let us provide the best care for seniors living at home in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties, including Elm Grove, Shorewood, and Brookfield.

When Around The Clock Care It A Long-Term Option
Many times, people looking for 24 hour home care or live in senior care for the long run are not sure where to start. Sometimes, a family member provides the care. This arrangement usually works for a little while, but maintaining a 24 hour schedule soon takes its toll.
Others look abroad and use an au pair or similar international agency to bring in a foreign worker. Just like with a relative providing all the care, too much strain is being placed on one individual. If this person is unable or unwilling to fulfill their duties, the senior’s health may be seriously impacted. Long-term, using foreign labor is not a feasible solution for at home, overnight care.
The smart choice for long-term help, whether it be 24 hour home care or live in senior care, is using a local agency staffed with well trained, pre-screened caregivers. Comfort Keepers offers Milwaukee and Waukesha area seniors consistent, dependable senior care services. Whether you need us for one month or ten years, we have the trained staff to provide the care you require for as long as you want.
102-Year-Old Lives Independently with Comfort Keepers’ Help
Helen celebrated her 102nd birthday in her home surrounded by cards, balloons, family, and Comfort Keepers.
“We celebrated her 100th with a cake, 101st with balloons and 102nd with cookies and are amazed how independent and mobile Helen continues to be year after year,” said Gina, local Comfort Keepers’ owner.
Helen is part of Milwaukee history. Her family, the Kashubes, came from the Baltic Sea area of Prussia (now Northern Poland) and settled with 2,000 others on Jones Island in early 1900s. She met her husband Elmer at a dance, where they fell in love and were married for 58 years. Elmer became captain of the West Allis Police Department. They both loved swimming and fishing on Wind Lake and Helen’s hobbies included sewing, crocheting, gardening and travel.
Due to a heart attack, Helen found herself in a nursing home where she did not adjust well. She felt isolated and lonely and eventually was brought back home.
“Comfort Keepers made a world of difference in her life,” said Helen’s granddaughter, Debra.
“The caregivers have been wonderful. The house is always clean, the laundry is done and my grandma gets her meals and medication on time. She is so much happier living in her own home, and for the rest of the family this gives us peace of mind that she is getting the help she needs.”
Last March Helen fell, injuring herself and going back to the hospital. Her family was so relieved to get her back home with her favorite Comfort Keeper Paula. They wouldn’t have to worry about her recovery thanks to her constant caregivers.
Because of Comfort Keepers providing these services, Debra cherished the quality and time she was able to spend playing and baking with her grandma.
