Degeneration of the macula is often related to age, but it can occur at any time in a patient’s life. As your senior starts to age, you will likely notice that he or she experiences issues with their eyes. Homecare assistance professionals remind that your loved one should have their eyes checked once per year to ensure they are healthy and that there are no problems.
The macula is located in your eye and is only 5mm in diameter. However, if this part of the eye is damaged, it can lead to complete vision loss. Homecare assistance teams want you to know that you should take your loved one in for an eye checkup if they complain about the way their eyes feel or they complain about the weigh they see.
Below, our team of homecare assistance providers have provided some tips and steps you can take to help prevent macular degeneration in your loved one.
